Re: Other NLS News

K's have been a shambles of a club for years. There aren't many clubs who can contrive to have got in the position they now find themselves in. They even had a ground built for them and they still managed to lose that. I will always feel some sympathy towards any supporters who are stuck with a club ...

Re: FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round Draw - 2pm today

Not the greatest draw...not much of a crowd puller and tough opposition. Could be a good measure of our progress, but overall a bit disappointing.

Re: Those Were The Days; 29th September 1990

An enjoyable period of our history, if not the greatest. Hook, Dicko, Rattue and Kuhne were all good excellent players. To be honest I don't really remember Steve McPherson being anything more than a mainly reserve player who was occasionally called up to the first team, without ever letting anyone ...

Re: FA Cup trip to Merthyr

Yes, decent result in the end against a pretty decent side. Still think if Merthyr had taken their first half chances they would have been out of sight but all credit for those second half changes.
Spalding at home in the 4th qualifying round please...(Edit...actually they're higher up than I ...

Re: FA Cup trip to Merthyr

0-0 at HT, very flat performance indeed from us, and we could easily be a couple of goals down if Merthyr were a bit more clinical. Big improvement needed in the second half.

Was he the one who had a fearsome shot, especially from free kicks?

Re: Those Were The Days; 26th September 1987

Again, another Hampton side containing some excellent players who collectively should (arguably) have achieved a bit more than they did. Dicko, Wigmore, Hollands and Walkes should all be considered club greats and some of the others were decent players too, including Sean (Declan's Dad) Rice.
Who ...

FA Cup trip to Merthyr

So a long trip to Wales tomorrow. How many are we expecting to take to this? Many going on the coach? Many driving? (We are.) Anyone go the last time we played there, when we had Peter Barnsby, Nick Burton, Leroy Grifffiths and Craig Maskell in the side? We won 3-0 that day but I'm expecting a ...

Re: Dover (a) - 20/09/25

Att 2,834. Amazing.

We were astonished on hearing this on Saturday. Even in a fairly big ground, it didn't look like it. They did have some sort of "community day" on though, and there were a lot of very young kids present who were probably all counted. Quite a few adults there with their kids ...

Re: Dover (a) - 20/09/25

Yep, expect most of us would have accepted a point beforehand but this was really two points thrown away rather than one gained. We gave them a lot of problems and when directly attacked, their centre backs were made to look ponderous, clumsy and ordinary. Thought two of their goals were somewhat ...

Re: Dover (a) - 20/09/25

I thought Ince looked a bit off the pace even for the brief time he was on v Croydon. Obviously to be expected given his long layoff, but I bet we don't loan him out anywhere!

Re: FA Cup draw

Pretty good day out as I recall, lots of singing by both sets of fans in their bar beforehand, all in.good spirits, and guys coming up afterwards in the car park to shake our hands and wish us a safe journey back. And this after we'd knocked the stuffing out of them on the pitch! Hoping for more of ...
