Re: Club Statement 03/05/24

How about Steve Bates? Maybe he should be given a chance. He knows the club inside out. Another Harper. It's not enough to know the club inside out though. You need loads of contacts, at both this level and in the football league lower divisions too. Harper actually occurred to me earlier because h...

Re: Club Statement 03/05/24

I wonder if Jimmy Bullard could be a contender? He did an interview online for the club two months ago and has been back recently filming his new podcast at the ground (with Fenners from Soccer AM) I hope not. He failed to set the world alight at Leatherhead. We need to see the logical, sensible ap...

Re: Club Statement 03/05/24

Hmmm. On that note, wasn't Sam Cox supposed to have been in Ted Lasso as an extra? That probably seals it... Are you suggesting that he might be appointed? [/quote] No, not at all, no inside info or anything, although he's done a great job at Wealdstone and knows the level well. We could do a lot w...

Re: Club Statement 03/05/24

Investors walking away, Mel gone, doesn’t read well for the future to be honest. Massive deficit in funding, spent way beyond their means, now paying the price. No Manager would go anywhere near those two! To be honest I've long been wondering if we need a contingency plan, just in case we are ever...

Maybe it was his own decision.
The National League group on FB said he was "relieved of his duties" so maybe they think they know a bit more than us. We might never know the truth...

Re: Club Statement 03/05/24

My young assistant has done his research and supplied me with a list of potential candidates, not many of them that appealing: David Noble ex Wealdstone, St Albans Sam Cox ex Wealdstone interim manager, Tottenham youth coach Danny Bloor ex welling, eastbourne Bradley Quinton ex hemel, Braintree, Enf...

Re: Club Statement 03/05/24

Interesting. I wouldn't bet against him having been sacked. The run in was dire as was some of the football at times, even during the unbeaten run. The statement is worded so vaguely that further explanation is definitely needed although I doubt we'll get it. So...who's next or might be available? T...

Re: Robbie Brownett

There must be loads of stories about Robbie. I think the one about him offering (ahem)some calm parking guidance to one Brendan Rogers (the Liverpool Manager at the time, at the Bev to see his son play for an opposing side I believe) must be right up there! How can I put it...Rob could be funny, wit...

Re: Robbie Brownett

Agree very sad news, as has already been commented he has been a fixture at the club for longer than most people can remember. Think I first met him in the late 60s or early 70s.Saw him at least once at Brentford during this time. It would be fitting for the club to mark his contribution over the y...

Re: Other NLS News

Harris to Kingstonian really is baffling. They're on a steady downhill spiral these days.
