Re: Robbie Brownett

There must be loads of stories about Robbie. I think the one about him offering (ahem)some calm parking guidance to one Brendan Rogers (the Liverpool Manager at the time, at the Bev to see his son play for an opposing side I believe) must be right up there! How can I put it...Rob could be funny, wit...

Re: Robbie Brownett

Agree very sad news, as has already been commented he has been a fixture at the club for longer than most people can remember. Think I first met him in the late 60s or early 70s.Saw him at least once at Brentford during this time. It would be fitting for the club to mark his contribution over the y...

Re: Other NLS News

Harris to Kingstonian really is baffling. They're on a steady downhill spiral these days.

Robbie Brownett

Sad news to report this evening I'm afraid... I heard over the weekend from Robbie's brother Jonathan that he has unfortunately passed away at home. Robbie was a long time stalwart of the club-supporter, volunteer, barman, committee member, supporter's team organiser, general ground helper, parking ...

Well done Les, these have been a consistently enjoyable read and ought to be compiled in a book.

Re: Playoffs who do you think will win?

The huge crowd at Maidstone makes a big difference and could be a factor. I'm sure they influenced a few 50/50 refereeing decisions against us on Saturday. However, Aveley could well go there and spring a surprise. They are a decent side and have hit form at the right time. Maidstone are pretty good...

Re: Review of the Season

Even during the unbeaten run, some of the actual football wasn't great. Results were good so people tolerated it but we really rode our luck at times.

Re: Review of the Season

Ah yes...just posted on twitter. Short interview about yesterday's game. Seems reasonably fair, talks about how the young players will learn from it. Shame he didn't use the experienced ones like Inman, Wishart, Donaldson and Whittingham as much during the run in then really...

Re: Review of the Season

Has any post match interview with Mel been posted anywhere yet? I haven't seen one.... What can he say? I would hope there would be some analysis of why form went off a cliff at the vital point in the season. Supporters don’t get to see what goes on behind the scenes so may not appreciate any valid...

I for one really hope we see an end to all the chopping and changing of the kit next season.

Re: Maidstone away.

Only 2 good things about today...the fact that we scored at all and the quickest ever journey home from Maidstone. OK, we initially responded well to a disastrous start today, and two of the home side's goals were terrific but in truth, I think a result like this has been on the cards for a few week...
