Re: HRBFC Twitter; Who would you like in first 3 games?

Some quotes from one of the directors that I contacted on Monday.... "A range of works is progressing and supporters are asked to stay away from the ground for safety reasons." "As a precaution, we have asked for early league fixtures to be away, if possible." "It's bound to...

Re: New pitch floodlights etc.

This is the way of "bigger and better funded" clubs though isn't it. All announcements are relentlessly upbeat and positive. Anything about difficulties or problems just isn't made public. Some may say it's all about controlling the agenda and narrative or maintaining a positive image. Ot...

Re: New pitch floodlights etc.

It might be that the lack of information is because there are factors both allowed for and unexpected that make firm information difficult . If they released dates which proved wrong then can you imagine the comments. I think you're being very generous to the new owners. If they'd had the confidenc...

Think DB's use of irony went unrecognised there..

Re: New pitch floodlights etc.

Obviously I hope my doubts are unfounded but it's the lack of openness from the club (i.e. the new owners) that's caused them. Most clubs would have been eager to keep supporters informed of any stadium developments during the close season but we've all been reduced to guesswork as to what the plans...

Re: New pitch floodlights etc.

I don’t see why that would be the case. We still have our ground grading in place and the proposed works will only enhance that. Apart from HM, is there anyone else with a a niggling feeling in the back of their mind wondering if there'll be a ground to grade or a team to support when next season s...

Re: New pitch floodlights etc.

Let's hope Louis's fortnightly newsletter provides some answers tomorrow. Though, if the owners had any regard for supporters, they would have provided updates on the normal club website. If there's a delay, fair enough, I think supporters could understand that provided they were kept in the loop bu...

Re: Pre-Season Friendlies 2023/24

Bishop's Strortford could be a possibility, then. Same level but different league. Or didn't we always play some "home" PSFs at Bedfont?

Re: New pitch floodlights etc.

The lack of activity and the lack of news from the board is very concerning though not surprising.

Re: New season

Any news on the installation of the new pitch? Has it started yet or when is it due to start?

Re: Pre-Season Friendlies 2023/24

If the new pitch is not ready, surely we'd do what Tonbridge did at the start of this last season and switch any home fixtures to become away matches with the return at home later in the season,

Re: Ron King RIP A Hampton Legend

There can't be many, if any, of the Hampton team of the mid-50s that are still alive. I know that Ernie Thomson, Ivor Griffin, Alan Duddy, Ted Brown, Derek Manning, Denny Cooper, Syd Harrison and Joe Cooper have all passed on. Does anyone know if Jake Cooper is still with us? I may be wrong but I se...
