Re: Club statement

If you listen to the club podcast the chairman says that they looked at asking players to take a big cut in wages but still could not make that work financially. Now I have no idea about how big a cut was requested but you have to remember players will probably be better off on furlough or possibly ...

Re: Rest of the season?

Tonbridge have now furloughed their entire first team squad and will field a scratch side if required to play on. Are we doing anything similar? Due to be away at Concord Tuesday evening.

Re: Rest of the season?

Some critical comments from Marc White, chairman of Dorking, today about our decision to vote null and void. His helpful suggestion is that we should have voted to continue and fielded our Academy side to save money. Now we may have to do that if the votes to finish are not carried and we are forced...

Re: Club statement

Just a reminder, the season hasn’t finished yet. The various votes still to be declared and NL decision to be made. Games still being played in the NLS.

Re: Club statement

Concord are saying they will now play on now testing is in place. Whilst there looks to be the 22 required votes for null and void for Resolution 3 it is still to be confirmed and indeed would be an irrelevant vote if Resolution 1 is not carried. So if either R1 or R3 fails to carry that leaves R4 a...

Re: Club statement

I think the League are pressing clubs to vote by today so that there is a clear position. As for Saturday we were due to play Slough who have already downed tools but have been threatened with disciplinary action. If the vote is to continue then I can only imagine all hell will break loose. Club hav...

Re: Rest of the season?

Those clubs that failed/ refused to play on Saturday have now been officially notified they are being sanctioned. This is going to go down well. A number of clubs could start with points deduction next season or fines they can’t pay this season. If the League doesn’t give any meaningful punishment t...

Re: Rest of the season?

I understand the league are now asking clubs to vote before the 28 day deadline so I guess we will see a decision one way or the other by the weekend. In the meantime, some clubs are receiving letters from the league asking whether they will fulfil Saturday’s fixtures and threatening sanctions.

Re: Rest of the season?

You're right some clubs with low average gates did very well out of the grants and of course the with much higher gates did disproportionately badly. Hence all the bitter recriminations over how the original allocation was handled. Without knowing each individual club's finances it is hard to say if...

Re: Rest of the season?

The whole situation needs sorting soonest so hope we cast our votes one way or the other. Running down our reserves or taking a loan when promotion looks unlikely doesn’t seem like the best option to me. Better to regroup for a hopefully normal 21/22 season. Players might be financially better off o...

Re: Tuesday night

Ebbsfleet are a decent side. Good to see Fisher’s scoring run continue but Muir now 6 games without a goal. We need more from him to make a real challenge.

Re: Rest of the season?

The current vote in NLN/NLS is 18 -15 in favour of N&V with 10 to vote including us. 22 is the threshold. My understanding is that if the league is declared N&V there will be no promotion so PPG doesn't come into it. If the league continues but clubs drop out with their records expunged then...
