Re: New Manager
Alan Julian's first interview now up. Disappointingly tells us very little. No mention of coaching team or players.

Re: New Manager
Question 1 should of course have been why did Mel leave? If the aim is to have better communications with supporters, someone is going to ask that question at some point so might as well have the answer ready. I think there were enough hints in Ben’s comments that point to spending too much on playe...

Re: New Manager
You’ll be glad to know we are aiming for the play offs again next season. Ben puts a positive spin on things as you would expect but no real comment on player budget or the role of the brothers or investors. Sounds as if Alan Julian has his management team together.

Re: New Manager
Good news that Ben Hudson is stepping up to chairman but the question remains what power does he have to drive his own strategy and carry the board and shareholders with him. Can’t think Ben would take on the role without real autonomy albeit the reality is that Ramayana have total control through t...

Re: New Manager
Maybe a bit of expectation management here but does seem rather downbeat. Youngsters won’t get much time to mature if they are in a struggling side fighting a relegation battle.

Re: New Manager
Can I be the first to mention that two of our most successful managers ever were also called Alan.

Re: New Manager
Don't see why it isn't real, Mel knows Robbie Simpson, manager at Chelmsford well.

Re: Summer 2024 squad tracker
Possibly the least surprising departure so far given how he was treated last season. We need to wait for what Alan Julian says on Monday about the squad but it would be encouraging if he could persuade some of his ex colleagues to stay. After all if we think he is the right man because of his contac...

Re: Summer 2024 squad tracker
A few clubs are now publishing their retained lists. I see Bath city had six players on loan last season which now return to their home clubs and are releasing four others. Of their nine contracted players one is on the transfer list. I wonder if we will go down the loan route from the off next seas...

Re: Club Statement 03/05/24
I would point out that the new owners have invested £1.4M in the club which is a very substantial amount for this level. Jacques pointed out at the time that the board had been looking for investment for some time and had plenty of approaches which had no substance to them. The Ramayana investor gro...

Re: Club Statement 03/05/24
I should have also added that the 3G pitch was viewed as key to making the club financially sustainable. This was the club’s plan before the new investors came on the scene but had not been possible due to the pandemic and soaring costs of borrowing. The new owners agreed to fund the 3G themselves b...

Re: Club Statement 03/05/24
Personal view here, but if there had been no viable new investment then the club had the option to significantly downsize on costs but this would not have been easy to execute and would almost certainly have led to relegation, maybe more than one, loss of management, players, volunteers, staff etc. ...
