I wonder why the NL even considered it, appeasing certain club chairman I would imagine. I will wait to see how many redundancies will be made at Dorking as Marc White claimed would happen if the league did not continue. I’m guessing none.

The book is about the last 20 years so not really covering players from before 2002.

One suggestion I read, was that all the clubs should ask to play so that it is now a 43 team competition. We can put out a scratch team and bung up the works by having too many games to play.

It makes no sense to me to allow promotion when more than half of the NLS and NLN sides won’t be involved. It clearly gives a massive advantage to clubs who can afford to carry on.
