Re: New season
With the excellent news that Luis has recommitted (I wonder what the delay was?) We now have a really competitive and exciting squad of 19 assembled. I don't believe any of our fellow NLS Clubs have done as much, as good, business yet and we should all be very pleased and excited indeed.

Never release a player until you've had his tracksuit and training kit back!Shepperton Supporter wrote: ↑Thu May 25, 2023 11:25 am Interesting about Staines dragging their heels over the registration. For us oldies I remember a similar action with Neville Warner and Don Aldridge!

Re: New season
Doswell signed him from Hemel, he had previously played at Sutton during Doswell’s tenure. He also played in Wales. Why he was released I don’t know, it might be a change in manager, financial issues, they had a poor run at the end of the season so that might have been a factor. Whether we are inte...

Re: Adam Desbois
This looks like a very sensible signing, as opposed to getting a 'loaner' in as and when required or having the Academy 'keeper on demand. It'll be Mel's job to keep the 'keepers patient and keen. I could see both 'keepers given runs during the campaign - why not, if they're both good enough.

Re: News of former players
Maidstone United have just announced the signing of Razzaq Coleman De Graft from Lewes. We let him go too soon IMHO.

Re: New pitch floodlights etc.
I randomly saw a Facebook update from a removals company yesterday, who provided pictures of their vans at the Beveree, busily loading up and assisting with the works (which referred to pitch and other works,) so hopefully activities have already started.

Re: NLS Allocation 2023/24
I saw some interesting mileage calculations the other day, on the back of the Bishop's Stortford issue, which actually showed that Hemel Hempstead Town would travel less miles in the NLN than either Bishop's Stortford or Braintree Town (due to HH's proximity to the M1). I wonder why no-one is questi...

Re: New season
I see, as a part of the official Metropolitan Police FC statement, they claim a PSF against us is 'pencilled in'. So, to summarise, we have a confirmed date at Salisbury on 29/07 and games at Ashford Town (Middx), Hanworth Villa and Met. Police tbc.

Re: Play offs
So, whatever happens, it's likely that Oxford City will NOT be in our League next season. Win they get promoted, Lose they get shunted north!

Re: Play offs
Further to the above, the 'fairly well-informed' Team at 'Football Matters' have already plumped to place Bishop's Stortford in the North - of course, they were shunted that way before for a couple of seasons. But to go from the Isthmian Premier straight to the NLN, seems a little unfair imho.
