Re: Those Were The Days; 26th April 2000
Some great names on that team sheet, I really think Warren Williams could have played a lot higher, but commitment and professionalism weren't the best. I remember one away game having to sit on the coaches waiting ages for him to turn up at Beveree, I think he may have ended up being left behing. O...

Re: New season
I think installing an artificial pitch could have a big impact on who signs for next season. There are studies and reports being worked on at the moment that show a massive increase in long term injuries that have happened on such services. I know a fair few players across different leagues who hav...

Re: Farnborough (FA Trophy)
Now then lets all calm down. And lets keep Gary and lets get the 19 points needed to make 40 points and be safe. We are playing one league above what we can afford. Changing the Manager is not the answer. Let Gary keep us up. Then at the end of the season have a change if thats what all partys want...

Re: Relegation issues settled?
Concord entertain Dartford tonight. Dowse says he wants four more points to secure second spot. Ideally if they get three tonight and point on Saturday (home to St Albans) then they might be thinking of resting players on their visit to us? I wonder how their playoff preparations will go? Depends i...

Re: Those Were The Days; 17th April 2010
You can see why we lost, basically four out and out centre forwards!
I know Tarpey didn't play through the middle back then, and Dundas always has played deeper too, but you certainly couldn't say the lineup wasn't attacking that day!

Re: Those Were The Days; 5th April 1999
What about Raphael Nade? Although pretty useless for us he did go on to play at a higher level including Carlisle Utd and Woking. He was a moody piece of work. I recall he had been subbed off in a game, went and sat by himself along the touchline having a strop instead of with his team mates. 11 ye...

Re: Those Were The Days; 5th April 1999
This is so weird, but I think I ended up managing Jamie McWilliams towards the end of his career when I was the Bromsgrove Sporting Reserve team manager (the club formed after Bromsgrove Rovers ceased). Will have to look into this more and see if I can catch up with him, and see if can get a story a...

Re: Welling away
I believe he has had offers already from a number of clubs higher up including us but has turned them down. Whether that will change come the close season remains to be seen. He is clearly not playing for money given what I was told on Saturday. His job may make it difficult to play in a full time ...

Re: Taunton at home
New floodlights, makes absolute sense. Can understand keeping them in the same positions for ease. Although do think it could restrict further development later, as they restrict lots of the view when watching down the sides. The old pylons are iconic, I have the scrap man isn't just getting them to...

Re: Welling away
Walton & Hersham v Basingstoke, top of the table clash it is then. Goal machine Eddie Simon going for his fifth hat trick in a row plus a few former Beavers on show. Eddie Simon obviously getting a lot of publicity for the scoring streak, and will have a lot of eyes on him. Hopefully Hampton al...

Re: Welling away
A fair few and I guess a lot of neutrals. Far too few stewards for the size of crowd and no tannoy. Safety announcements by Twitter! Surely it's a league requirement to have a working tannoy system, and the game should not be able to go ahead without one. Pretty sure it's part of the safety require...
