Re: Rest of the season?
It makes no sense to me to allow promotion when more than half of the NLS and NLN sides won’t be involved. It clearly gives a massive advantage to clubs who can afford to carry on. If the league were to even think about supporting that idea then I would hope clubs would vote it down. How would a vot...

Re: Rest of the season?
Marc White is now backtracking from legal action as I suspected he would have to. Doubt if all the continuation clubs want to end up suing their own league and potentially the FA as well. Listening to Mark Ives on Ollie Bayliss’ Non League show, there doesn’t seem to be any leadership about what hap...

Re: Rest of the season?
It’s a pressure tactic. Mark Ives, NL acting CEO, who is ex FA legal/compliance is probably not going to be fazed by a lawyers letter. I doubt the FA are going to delay the ratification of the vote so Marc White may have to injunct the FA who won’t be terribly impressed ( see South Shields attempts ...

Re: Rest of the season?
I like the “respectfully” line. Dorking are considering legal action against the decision and some of the comments by their chairman could only be interpreted as very disrespectful. Threatening legal action is of course a classic bullying tactic to get your own way and will get a couple of other cha...

Re: Rest of the season?
Marc White better off saving his money rather than wasting it on lawyers on a pointless crusade. What the future holds for the NL is anyone’s guess. The omnishambles of this season could see it broken up and partly absorbed into the the EFL. That would make a lot of sense but would take some time to...

Re: Rest of the season?
Dorking think they were going to win the league this season so are looking at every avenue to keep the season alive. In my view their financial arguments don’t hold any water and as for starting legal action it’s not unlike our good friend across the pond who didn’t like the outcome of a vote. No do...

Re: Rest of the season?
He is now threatening an injunction on the vote which is a great way to make friends at the League. Now saying if the vote in null and void they will have to make redundancies. Something not quite right here. They could afford to see out the season previously but even with the benefit of furlough pa...

Re: Club statement
Tonbridge have signed 16 new players so will be interesting to see their caliber if they ever have to play.

Re: Tuesday night at Concord
That’s handy! Still no news on the vote outcome which is concerning. Maybe the league is waiting for the 22 February Boris roadmap before making a decision. Personally I wouldn’t follow any Boris roadmap. Could you imagine where you might end up!

Re: Club statement
One question not asked in the podcast is what happens it the league votes to continue. Are we considering going down the Tonbridge and Maidstone route of furloughing then squad and playing a scratch side?

Re: Club statement
If you listen to the club podcast the chairman says that they looked at asking players to take a big cut in wages but still could not make that work financially. Now I have no idea about how big a cut was requested but you have to remember players will probably be better off on furlough or possibly ...

Re: Rest of the season?
Tonbridge have now furloughed their entire first team squad and will field a scratch side if required to play on. Are we doing anything similar? Due to be away at Concord Tuesday evening.
