Re: Those Were The Days; 27th April 1987
Do you have the team sheets Les?
It would be interesting to see who played for Wimbledon.
Don't have the team sheets but from memory it was pretty much the entire first team squad from that time...John Fashanu, Dave Beasant, Glen Hodges, Alan Cork, Wally Downes etc...don't forget this was only ...

Re: Other NLS News
Alan Julian being mentioned as a possible replacement at Slough. Gavin MacPherson, ex Enfield Town, could also be a good shout.
I'd wondered if Davies might have got Julian involved at Aldershot, given that every time we ever played Slough they would bang on endlessly about what great mates ...

Re: Review of the season- some stats
Of course last season (24/25) we were suffering from the Charlatans and this season we were suffering the effects of their departure and the late change of ownership which must have had an effect on recruitment.
Next season will be a better test although I suspect it will still be quite a ...

Re: Enfield Town
Good to round the season off with a win, in a nice positive atmosphere. Dowse has done a very good job in keeping us up when we looked unlikely to win again before Julian departed. The summer could be interesting, and I wouldn't mind betting quite a few player changes will be on the cards.

Re: Other NLS News
I'd probably have Ryan Hill back, but I doubt we'd be on his radar.Tony wrote: Thu Apr 23, 2026 2:53 pm Sounds like a clear out of players at Aldershot. I would imagine Dowse will be getting calls.

Re: Other NLS News
Whatever the budget at Aldershot, the expectations will still be too high for almost any manager coming in.

Re: Other NLS News
NL news. Aldershot have sacked their manager and player coach.
Apparently the chairman needs to cut their player budget for next season so may not be the most attractive gig in town for the next manager. Scott Davies being heavily linked by fans. George Elokobi recently departed Maidstone ...

Re: Those Were The Days; 18th April 2009
I believe we tonked them four or five nil at Kingsmeadow stadium before they got promoted to the football league...AmI right here?
MK
Yes 4-0 I believe.
We scored 2 penalties I think.
That was when again we as fans were treated poorly by them, they made us enter around far side of ground ...

Re: Those Were The Days; 18th April 2009
I'm still not over it.
I didn't know about that pre match complaints about the ground, that makes me dislike them even more.
Them playing on when a player seriously injured was bad enough, but the fact the ball went out for a throw in and the referee allowed play to continue is absolutely ...

Re: Those Were The Days; 18th April 2009
Remember it very well. Ha, where to start with this one...before this game I'd quite admired the rise of the new Wimbledon club and was full of admiration for what they'd achieved, and the progress they'd made, even if playing them had turned into an increasingly bitter local rivalry, mainly due to ...

Re: Ebbsfleet Utd (a)
Today could easily have been 7-0 had Ebbsfleet not blasted over some decent chances. We couldn't have complained either...they weren't a fabulous side by any means, and I doubt they'll be in enough form to win the playoffs, so we might even get another trip there next season.
