Re: New Badge Incoming???

My interpretation of that tweet is that it is about the badge not the name. To change a club name you have to get permission from the FA/League and you can't just do that overnight. Can be done far more easily than you make out. Last season Barnt Green Spartak who have been going for over 20 years,...

Re: News of former players

Yes I vaguely remember that being put around. But Hill can't have been on that much money with us, he was still fairly young, and you would have thought going to a league side on less money might have put him in the shop window even more. Shame really, he was definitely good enough for at least Lea...

Re: News of former players

I was always slightly surprised he'd gone to Eastleigh. Thought he could have gone to a bigger club at the time. Dagenham isn't a massive step up but it's probably progress. Eastleigh offer big money. When Jamal Lowe went to Portsmouth, Eastleigh actually offered a lot more in weekly wages. Also mo...

Re: New pitch floodlights etc.

It might be that the lack of information is because there are factors both allowed for and unexpected that make firm information difficult . If they released dates which proved wrong then can you imagine the comments. I think you're being very generous to the new owners. If they'd had the confidenc...

Re: New pitch floodlights etc.

Obviously I hope my doubts are unfounded but it's the lack of openness from the club (i.e. the new owners) that's caused them. Most clubs would have been eager to keep supporters informed of any stadium developments during the close season but we've all been reduced to guesswork as to what the plan...

Re: New pitch floodlights etc.

The big problem now is if the new 3G pitch had to be put off to next year, the current pitch has not been maintained or have the usual summer work done.

surely as a back up it makes sense to do basic maintenance of the grass, at least keeping it cut in case things go wrong with the plans for the 3G.

Re: News of former players

Why do people get surprised at players playing at a lower level. Travel may suit them better, couple be less training, could get really good financial offer, and of course, buying into what the manager and club tell them for their plans. There's some fantastic players at lower levels who could play ...

Re: New pitch floodlights etc.

Let’s hope we get an update this week. If not and nothing for a couple of weeks then the chances of everything being ready for the start of the season are slim. It's already too late to be ready for the start of the season. We all know the drainage isn't great, well that will no doubt take weeks of...

Re: Pre-Season Friendlies 2023/24

You have to have and maintain contacts higher up to get juicy home friendlies. I wouldn't be surprised if maybe a friendly of sorts at a training ground against a pro u23s or something through one of Mel's contacts perhaps. Really need to keep and maintain the contacts with Brentford, QPR etc, you c...
