Maidstone home today

A tough game today as we try to end a run of two successive defeats. Let’s hope we can improve on our poor home record. Yet again we play a team of full timers. There might be a few injuries so expect some changes in our line up.

As was said a tough game, and although we looked like we were hanging on a bit at times we could also have nicked it on a couple of occasions. Ref was weak today I thought.

I thought it was a really poor game from both sides, mostly a game of lump ball with little quality on the ball. Picked up in the last 15 minutes and draw a fair result. We lost Farrell in the second half to add to a growing injury list. Anderson clearly out of favour after Saturday.
Thankfully we found an equaliser from one of the very few times we kept the ball on the floor. Maidstone didn’t show much but were stronger in defence and midfield. Wassmer and Donaldson our best players today.

Yes I thought Wassmer was outstanding, clearing everything that came down the middle. Two strong shouts for Hampton penalties for handball in the second half which the ref chose to ignore!

Gary mentioned in his post match interview the need to bring in more players given the injury situation. We are currently missing Muir, Deadfield, Ruddick, Minhas now possibly Farrell. Uche is out on dual reg to get fitness. Others in the squad are carrying injuries. The bench yesterday once again looked very light with only Anderson and Cole having any experience at CS level.

From what Gary said he is looking to bring in 1/2 players, to an extent it will depend on the injury situation. From what I gather some of these players might be out for some time, whilst others have not played at all this season.

Not sure what folks think, a target man for Slew to play off of would give us additional attacking options.

We are light in midfield and up front. Yes an experienced target man is needed, Slew is a great asset but needs help up there. Maybe looking at getting a loan from a National League club as their squads settle

Felt yesterday that part of the improvement in the second half was having Cox and Miller Rodney in midfield to protect the back four. Might be worth a second look.?

Hasn’t Minhas gone to Beaconsfield?

Has he? Not sure why we are looking to bring in more players with others out on dual reg unless there is a limit in how soon we can recall.
