Last three managers all goalkeepers! Feels like a high risk appointment to me but maybe that’s where we’re at from a financial position. Let’s see what coaching team he puts around him and what players stay or go. If the likes of Gray, Deadfield and Donaldson aren’t persuaded to stay then that will be an indication of things to come.

I believe Donaldson has a reasonably high-powered job outside of football so I doubt will stay if the plan to move to morning training goes ahead.

We await to hear if the three mornings a week idea is still a thing.

Jools has a positive infectious attitude and will give it a go, and a good sense of humour with opposing fans.

Would full-time training need more £ playing budget?

Next season backs-against-the-wall, every-point-is-precious is when the team needs support. A squad with a positive, battling attitude might bring the club community back together a bit if the Beveree is made into a more welcoming place, even if end up relegated.

Best to Jools.

You beat me to it Tony!
Goalkeepers union should have it's meetings at Beveree!

Good luck to Alan, seems a good guy, got to hope he can use his contacts from his career, he will know lots of players in non league, hopefully he has a budget that can attract who he once.
As a rookie manager, his back room team will be very important, so perhaps he will bring in some experience as his number 2.

I agree. Great guy, and really, really pleased for him, but it feels like a club on a tight budget all of a sudden.

My understanding is that is the next step to a full time squad, attracting younger players released out of the pro ranks who are looking to get back into the pro teams. You have to pay enough to be most of a living wage but maybe younger players command a lower equivalent salary compared to more experienced part time. Then there is a question of whether you are paying 52 or 40 weeks.

Good luck Alan Julian. Hope it goes well for you Its a better appointment than Dowson rumour has it he wanted The Club Car.

Think most of us view this appointment with mixed feelings, like Alan a lot, but fear he has been given the job as he would work with a smaller budget that more experienced managers would not be involved with.
A good indication will be who stays, (regrettably I fear further departures of the better players,) and who is recruited, we will be able to get a better idea in a few weeks.

I believe Alan cycles to the ground as he lives locally.

Maybe the reduced budget only stretches to a club bicycle now?

Hopefully not part electrified to assist with a push for a greener footprint.

What a pair of clowns the 2 Italians are!

No travel expenses. Good for a tight budget.
