Bedfont took a 17th minute lead with a ball that may have bounced down off the crossbar and crossed the line (or not), but MacLaren levelled shortly after, getting on the end of Uchechi’s corner. Adams then pounced on a weak clearance to score from 15 yards. By half time Hampton led 4-1, Kamara and Mavila both scoring. The hosts opened the scoring in the second half, but Hampton soon restored their superiority. Fitchett headed in at the far post before Parish converted a penalty in the 69th minute, before scoring his second with ten minutes to go.
The game was Gary McCann’s first match since taking over the managerial role at Beveree and there were quite a number of players (and staff) with Hendon connections. As with many club’s pre-season games, there were a few names that came and went without ever being seen again!
