Two goals either side of the half-time interval by the K-Squad (Kiernan and Kretzschmar) set up the Beavers for a comprehensive win over Harlow Town. The goal rush took a while to arrive as it wasn’t until just before half-time that the Beavers really took control of the game. Kiernan weaved his way from the left and unleashed a curling shot that Harlow’s keeper David Hughes really should have held onto. Immediately after half-time, Kretzschmar made it 2-0. Crawford crossed from the right-hand side, the ball was deflected, but sat up obligingly for Kretzschmar. The third goal came from a penalty after Kamara was brought down, Kretzschmar sending Hughes the wrong way. The fourth goal came after Hughes couldn’t hold a onto a bullet header from Cook which was parried only as far as Kiernan, 4-0. Harlow pulled a goal back when James Baker lashed in a shot from close range. Hampton’s fifth came when Kiernan completed his hat-trick. A Kretzschmar shot came back off the keeper and Kiernan pounced on it, 5-1.
