Playing their fourth game in a week, Hampton finished marginally outside the play-offs as a result of a 3-2 defeat in the last game of the season, losing out to Leyton on goal difference. The Beavers were 2-0 down at one point, pulled back to level the scores before a late deflected goal gave relegated Tonbridge the points. After a quiet start, Tonbridge took the lead in the 26th minute when Tony Dolby scored with a driven corner that curled into the net. Fernandes almost levelled with a lob that Tonbridge keeper, Jamie Turner, was relieved to see was too high. The second half kicked into life with three goals in a five-minute spell. Leroy Huggins scored Tonbridge’s second on the hour, heading in a cross from Richard Brady, before Hampton struck back. In the 62nd minute, Inns scored with a header from a corner and a few minutes later it was all-square. Godfrey, who had replaced Ulasi at the start of the second half, beat Turner from just outside the penalty area. The Beavers were temporarily in fifth place but then Dolby scored again, his free-kick deflecting off the head of Jeffrey, and that was the season ended.
