I think in 99% of manager interviews I have seen at any club, after a loss they run through the "if only" scenarios - should have been a penalty/red card, unlucky we hit the post, not offside, should have scored, etc- forgetting that the opposition will make exactly the same claims.
Alternately if only we had signed better players, if only we had played better pre-season opposition, if only we had better tactics, if only we didn't highlight just the refereeing decisions that went against us, if only it hadn't been so hot, if only ..............
