Hungerford at home on Saturday.

Post by Shepperton Supporter »

Our penultimate home fixture against a team whose recent form shows 4 defeats in the last 6 matches.
Will we win, fingers crossed! Depends on who we field as to fitness issues . Might see how Gary’s thinking with regards to the retained list .

Never was there a more no risk game to field some of the “promising youngsters.” We know what we need to know about the existing squad so why not take a look at a couple of Academy lads.

We do owe them.

I've only seen a couple of away games, and I seem to have chosen probably the worst two performances of the season at Slough and Hungerford.

After Mondays dull draw this was much better and a deserved 2-0 win, both goals from Donaldson penalties in the first half. The return of TMR to midfield made a big difference with much higher energy levels. Second half more even and less eventful. Hungerford down to 10 men for last 15 minutes but no further goals. Defence remained solid throughout. Up to 11th and five points behind Havant who are 7th.

Yes, a much better performance today against a strangely lacklustre side who could still have had an outside chance of the playoffs. If only we'd played with such drive and verve for the last couple of months, our own playoff place would be sealed by now.
Bit of a shame Havant equalised with a late goal against Welling...could have added a little bit more interest for our game there next week if they'd lost today.

A better performance than of late , both goals from the spot, we are struggling to get one from open play and has been commented earlier, strikers must be high on Gary’s shopping list.
Again the defence was sound, another clean sheet, we will miss Ness when his loan finishes. Have been impressed with Dunne of late and his partnership with Dronfield and later Uche looks promising.
A comfortable win, would expected more from the visitors who rarely threatened.

Very good performance…shout out to groundsman as the pitch was in great condition and allowed good football to be played. Agreed re Miller-Rodney he was direct and full of energy and Ness was strong and composed. The other Charlton lad had his best game up front and looked a threat.
