Already, this match seems a life-time away. The first competitive game of the season in front of a crowd, limited in numbers by Covid-19 regulations. Due to the rules, no Beaver fans were supposed to be at the game, but a few managed to wangle their way in. The gap in status between the teams was not immediately obvious to the neutral (not that there were likely to be any neutrals able to get a ticket). The only goal of the match came on the half-hour when Corinthian’s keeper Prall failed to hold on to a shot from Gray and Donaldson, following in, fired the ball past the prone keeper.
This cup tie would be only one of two first team competitive games that would be in front of a ‘live’ crowd during season 2020/21, as all the other cup and league games would be behind closed doors.
