A bit of a wake up call which possibly puts some of our recent successes into context. Boreham Wood were a very good side indeed without being spectacular or even that easy on the eye, but they are very physically strong and extremely well drilled, in other words a typical National League side and I'd be amazed if they didn't go straight back up. Alex Wall scored a good header with his first touch after coming on (unfortunately when the game was already out of sight) but that doesn't alter the fact that we were easily and comprehensively beaten.
Just a mention for the more modern Boreham Wood supporter experience... well yes, the ground improvements were superficially quite impressive but £2.50 for a cup of tea and some of the unfriendliest fans I have come across in ages (being told to "f*** off home" by a young woman with Downs Syndrome while her companion/carer grinned was a new one for me and just one example) means I might not bother again, in the unlikely event they don't go up.

The highlights are now up. All three BW goals came from poor defending or errors. We had some good chances and Jalloh hit the bar when maybe should have scored. That would have been 2-1. BW also had plenty of efforts.

Tony, the highlights don't really do it justice...what you say is definitely true but they were bigger, stronger, better organised and extremely well drilled. I dont actually think we played badly at all but I think it says a lot that as soon as we brought Wall on we immediately showed more presence up front (I think his headed goal was his first touch) which begs the question it wasn't done earlier, rather than when we were 3-0 down.

Thanks, guess that’s the benefit of being full time and no doubt most of their squad will have NL experience too. Over the course of a season it is hard for us to compete.
