A tough run of games against Teams in the top 7 with much greater resources, experience and bigger squads than us. Playing Tuesday / Saturday / Tuesday with a smaller squad was always going to be hard.

To be 9th at this stage of the season is a fantastic achievement and no real reason to be dissapointed with the last 2 games.

At the start of the season I'd have bitten both your hands and feet off to be in this position with 15 games to go!

With only 4 of the last 15 games against teams chasing the play offs there is opportunity for many more points to come.

Agree, we are in a much better position than we had even hoped. The recent run of games against play off placed sides have resulted in 1 win, 1 draw and 3 defeats puts where we are into some perspective.

Possibly the most worrying trend is 8 goals conceded in the last 3 games and wondering just how much we are missing Jack Taylor's quality. Hopefully fixtures against some less high-flying teams will allow us to string together some better results over the coming weeks.

I still think we will finish with a better points tally than last season.

Completely agree, back in the summer when we were signing a lot of players from lower divisions I think many would have jumped at the opportunity to be where we are now.

Don’t know which position he played last night, but Dom Revan has also been shifted in recent games to right back. Could be an argument he is also a loss in the middle.

We all agree with the opinions here, we have exceeded the expectations that we had at the start of the season, we cannot compete with several teams in this league with their financial resources and need to try and preserve our league status over the next few seasons. We need to secure some players for next season, as I fear that we could be faced with another exodus of young players as we are vulnerable to poaching. Alan might be able to find some young players but it might get more difficult as other clubs might be doing the same.
Agree we have had a difficult run of games recently and there are points to be won from now on..

Ted Curd is probably a big miss as well.

Not really, Merrick has been superb as his replacement.

Merrick is a fantastic keeper, he will definitely play in the EFL

Interesting comments from Alan Julian about the relative strengths of our recent opponents. Think they underline the points already made on this forum about our resources compared to the three clubs recently played that can have the likes of Pavey on their bench.

Mention of Pavey, he has been loaned to Farnborough for an initial 28 days.

Interesting remarks about next season.
