This signing and others show that owing to the current budget, players have to recruited from lower down the pyramid. He was one of several players from the step below that I had thought were possible to sign and could, given good coaching make an impact. Time will tell . Now for a keeper, Ben mentioned a loan player wonder if it will be in this position. We have seen some good keepers from league clubs who want to give them experience at our level.

With this young keeper signed on loan, does this means that we are not going to get in a permanent keeper?

Would imagine he will be first choice as unlikely Chelsea would allow the loan otherwise. He was on a season’s loan at Hashtag Utd but only lasted half a season so our risk is that he gets recalled and we need to find a replacement.

This is always the downside of loans. He looks a very promising player, I fear it could turn out to be a “baptism of fire” which could make or break him!
I have to be honest to date the current squad is far less experienced than last season and therein lies potential problems. Just hope my assessment is incorrect!
However we all realise that there are budget cuts and that some of last season’s reckless spending (not all on playing budget) has been one of the factors coupled with an unrealistic rhetoric as to potential which when it became obviously incorrect, lead to a cessation of further investment.

I believe he left Hashtag during the season as he was called up to the England U17 squad for their World Cup. Hashtag then got another keeper and he then stayed at Chelsea.

I noted that Adam has altered his list 29 times, thank you for so diligently keeping up the changes. Wonder how many more alterations you will need to do before the season starts!?

The squad numbers have been allocated which might give an indication of who is first choice. No 5 not allocated could this mean another incoming?
Some interesting numbers French is 2 , Wall is 7, Roberts is 9, leave it to others to peruse.

On the other numbers , Babhajide is 17 (another Toney!) Other returning players have kept their old numbers except Revan who I would have thought having a lower number!.
