I thought the managers job was sacrosanct at HRBFC this season or is he now running out of games to prove/save himself!

Eddie Simon has left Tonbridge, citing personal reasons.
Eddie Simon's got to be worth a punt for us surely, given our current situation? Unless he wants to drop back down a level...
Assume he lives nearer to us than Tonbridge going by his previous clubs. But I guess it would depend if the personal reasons he left Tonbridge means he can commit to the travel at NLS level.

I believe he is a dentist working in Weybridge and presumably local as he previously played for Walton & Hersham and Kingstonian so that should at least work (assuming he can arrange early finishes on matchdays).

Just scrolling through twitter to come across an Eastbourne Borough post (linked below) that states 'EBFC players will be reimbursing the cost of match tickets for all travelling supporters' - link:

Supporters make a CHOICE whether or not to travel to away games. Personally, I don't think that making the players reimburse 'supporters' is acceptable. Okay, they lost 7-0 away to Torquay today; in no way should that mean that the players' wages should be taken away from them/their families to go to the supporters who, again, made the CHOICE to travel. Players have off days, that's life, they're human. Being a supporter, you take both the highs and lows with your club! They should not be expecting reimbursements from their own players because they lost. Those who travel to any away games and expect a win every game are the biggest *beeps* who follow the team. (apologies, just my short take on it)

Totally agree, this is nonsense and all part of supporting a team. No-one held a gun to their head in their decision to travel. In a few year's time they'll probably even see being there as a kind of rueful badge of honour!

Also agree. It's very fake, performative rubbish. They probably thought it would get a load of responses along the lines of "fair play, wow what a great gesture, proper club" etc, while knowing nobody would actually be shameless enough to claim the money. In other words, only done for virtue signalling and it has backfired on them. Hopefully that discourages it from others.

Or maybe it was a genuine gesture rather than virtue signalling? Neither you nor I know the true reason so why rush to put your own unpleasant take on it?

Whether it was genuine or not probably won't change someone's view on this, at least not by a lot. People can express their opinions on any situation. I personally do not see how this comment is an 'unpleasant take', it is quite literally people just saying their views. Others don't have to agree, and they're more than welcome to say what they think of a situation. Nobody's gonna get upset or have a go for having a different opinion, especially for one that doesn't affect us or our club. So you're more than welcome to say how you feel.

I wonder what the threshold is for a refund?

Most social media stuff is performance.
As for your other remark... because I can say what I like and because it's a discussion forum for, you know... discussion
