I am not sure how communication priorities are set. I don't see what the club put on Twitter because I've deleted it but on YouTube we get highlights (which is important and should be a priority) but also a lot of pitchside / backstage stuff which IMO is of marginal interest (once you've seen one) and is very much a nice to have. Facebook content seems quite sporadic with announcements e.g. international call ups, TOTW mixed in with photo montages (particularly after wins).

I expect this all is dependent on volunteers so don't particularly want to criticize but perhaps fans should be asked what content they would value most for me it's probably:

- player news
- prompt highlights (home and away)
- away commentaries
- manager reactions (for all games)
- periodic chairman updates e.g. monthly

Manager interviews are only ever really as good as the questions that are asked. If no one asks stuff such as where is Roberts, how near is Gray to fitness then they won't be addressed. I also feel quite strongly that this notion of not wanting to give away too much about our injury situation is a bit daft...from the saturation premier league coverage about the superstar injuries to clubs like Worthing, Maidstone and others being a bit more open, well, it clearly doesn't make a lot of difference to them. It ought to be a prerequisite in this day and age.

Would agree with these points on media coverage, it would be helpful. However we are not good at this especially in recent times. Could it be that there has been cost cutting in this area?

With 7 games to go in this season a new manager if appointed soon would have a chance to assess the team in a competitive situation. He would then have a better chance of making the best decisions about the composition of the playing staff for next season. If money is the real problem the sooner we prepare for the inevitable fight against relegation next year the better.

But didn't we do that last year? And with seven games to go it seems it is a fight we are going to win (despite the recent bad run) so isn't talk of appointing a new manager a little ridiculous?

To appoint a new manager would achieve nothing except a detrimental result. Julian took on the job, his first managerial appointment, and like anyone starting afresh, has a learning curve to achieve. If you talk to folk in the game who know a bit about football management, they all say that, given the resources he was given, he has done a very good job.
Any prospective manager, one of the first questions he will ask is “what is the playing budget.” In our current circumstances our answer would be so they would decline the offer.
Depending on finances, next season we will have in Julian, a man with some experience which will help him to avoid mistakes he has made this season and have the ability to build on those actions that were successful.

You are assuming he wants to stay. If there is an even lower budget than the start of this year then he might have second thoughts.

You are correct, but if this is the reason he resigns then the club is very likely to be relegated and will start a downward spiral if no fresh investment . Think we know whom to blame !

I think if Jules does indicate that he want to stay then frankly we should bite his arm off. Keeping us up this season on limited resources would still be an achievement to be proud of. However I wonder if he might have offers elsewhere because of that fact alone. After all, we were playing some really decent football before the evident cuts really kicked in, far better than for a lot of last season.

If you knew you were a nailed-on certainty for relegation, why would you stake your reputation on that?

Well yes, I have a lot of doubts that he will! I think he has a lot of potential that others will have noticed, and he must have learned a hell of a lot this season.

True but clearly nobody is a "nailed-on certainty" for relegation unless they start the season with an absolutely massive points deduction.

Around this time last year many here thought we were a certainty for relegation this season. Look how that turned out.
