Of the three he mentions one has just been announced so clearly not just making it up.
He's making most of it up. He said Lyle Taylor was signing for Dagenham, despite the fact he just renewed his contract with Chelmsford.

Why can’t we just be like a normal club and announce who we keep via a post on social media even if it is drip fed. Watching a video kills all buzz really.

I don't know what's worse to be honest...there's a lot to be said for having a published retained/released list, most other clubs at our level seem to be able to manage it. It thanks players who are departing too. But the way information is drip fed can be irritating. The way our old Press guy Rob used to do it drove everyone mad.
There's also a huge potential benefit in announcing some really exciting signings just before the annual drive to sell season tickets, which is presumably why many other clubs announce their marquee signings so early on.
It's probably not a bad time for a Chairman's update too. It's been a while.

Took me 20 minutes to realise Dowse meant Field had re- signed. I kept hearing Feeney :)

There is an increasing amount of fans' FOMO these days but I think you have to rely on Dowse having been around for a good while now and trust him not to plunge into making a wrong signing. He said himself that a couple of the his recent signings were regretted in hindsight and he wants to make sure. Field and Atkinson are decent players but we need the Atkinson that shone in his first 6 months with us rather than the one who was in and out of the team least season. He finished well but needs to maintain that level. The real interest will come when we make new signings which will indicate where we are aiming in terms of experience and quality.

That's absolutely true. A lot of dust will settle over the next month or two and some decent players will find themselves without a club. Hopefully we can take advantage of that. Goodness knows there were some really ill advised and odd signings made last summer by the previous management.
