Won 5-0. Await reports but looks pretty good at face value.

Yes, a convincing 5-0 win against a club who gained promotion last season is never to be sniffed at but in truth we looked a class above Chertsey for most of the game. In particular, we looked very strong in attack and could easily have scored a couple more.
I like the football Julian is trying to play, particularly the early delivery of the ball into the box, and there were quite a few examples of quick, intricate passing, especially in front of goal.
There's every reason to be optimistic, and I think we could surprise a few this season. Barnet on Tuesday should be a good test of how we're doing.

Bearing in mind our hosts had just got promoted and had recently beaten Slough, many of us would have expected a difficult encounter. Speaking to folk who had seen previous games, their opinion was that, especially in the first half, was the best football seen . Certainly the passing and ball retention was good.
The one thing that stood out for me is the difference between an experienced Step 2 side and one just promoted to step 3. We often remark about the size of players at our level, today we looked a team of ‘giants ‘ and frequently were able win and retain possession.
5-0 could have been more, neither of our keepers were that troubled whilst at the other end, the home’s keepers made several good saves and there was at least one cleared off the line.
Barnet may be a very different examination.

Do we know how strong a side Chertsey had out.

Just seen this. What’s going on? Oxford City, now Barnet. Must be incredibly frustrating and disruptive for our preparations. Hopefully we can get a game arranged at short notice.

Looks like Barnet got a bunch of injuries yesterday and had to borrow an opponents player in the 2nd half to have 11 on the pitch.

Weird they have such a small squad available.

Also thought we looked good in the first half. Good structure and passing. Generally looked comfortable on the ball. It became a bit disjointed once changes started to be made.
Good sized crowd at a decent ground.

Sounds like some teams are now afraid of Hampton
and the side that has been recruited

How about Hampton visiting Hanworth on Tuesday night? Could it happen at short notice?
