Unable to get to Beveree today. Couldn't fathom the reasoning behid the team selection. Rather than follow the game on 'watchalong' (waste of time), I listened to the commentary on Durham Air Radio. Very fair to both sides, I thought. Even they, at the beginning, queried why the manager had made so many changes to the line-up!

Just noticed that Alex Wall was voted our man of the match today - possibly not unfair but it seems to sum our afternoon up well. Unless I missed it, I don't think our big striker actually had a shot...

In recent weeks Sorondo, Page, Wiltshire and Masampu haven’t been given any meaningful time off the bench even when it might have made sense to do so. The only conclusion is that the manager didn’t feel they were worth the risk bringing on.Yet today they all start. A risky strategy but by half time one that clearly wasn’t working. Why not bring on the cavalry for the second half?

You did, he had one in the second half, but an easy save for the keeper.

I was actually down in Hampton today from Yorkshire on a visit to my sister. Was about to set off for Beveree when the team line-up came up on Twitter, realised they weren’t taking the match seriously and decided to stay in the warm. I think the team selection was disrespectful to the opposition and an insult to supporters. And I can’t understand why Atkinson, Revan and Hunt were not brought on at half-time.
Strong words, but I actually think I agree with this comment from Roger. Well said.
And to also reflect on another comment made elsewhere on here, the home support were very lacklustre today and it's been going that way for a while. We desperately need Alec back to galvanise a bit of noise behind the goal.

Myself along with a few others try and chant and get some noise going, but it’s very difficult when there’s only four or so of you. Agree regarding Alec.

I do think lots of other people who stand behind the goal (myself included) need to make more of an effort in this regard and join in with you.
Yes it's difficult when you have a performance like today and there's nothing to react to, but let's be honest it's been a flat atmosphere all season. It's getting a bit like the Champion Hill experience (eat your souvlaki, drink your crafty beer and talk about rubbish, anything other than engaging with the game). Spennymoor fans were great today.

If the manager can't be bothered with fielding his strongest team is it any wonder the fans are going to be silent or stay at home.

Oh dear, that was terribly disappointing today. Big Fella Upfront Syndrome swept through the team. By which I mean there was a lot of lumping it towards Alex to do something with. But there weren’t any midfield runners to help him out.
A very Un-Jules type setup and style of play, I thought. Quite bizarre.

It did remind me a lot of Gwinnettball that we saw last season which was incredibly painful.

I had exactly the same thought during the match, Josh

Just a random one, Donovan wasn't in the dugout or involved in the warm-up, could this have been a factor in any shape or form? Not sure as to his whereabouts, I'm sure it'll be a perfectly valid reason, just strange he wasn't there.
