Gio resigned, he's a good lad and a good player when fit, but we have a lot of wide players not withstanding no one knows what's happened to James Roberts. With no Byrd, surely it's some height and strength we need at the back? Look woefully short of genuine centre backs.

I can understand why he has returned and he is an improvement on certain others providing he is fit. Can agree about the lack of any choice in central defence. We need some physical presence upfront too. It is beginning to look we are just hoping to limp along to the end of the season, hoping we have enough points to survive. As for next season, it will depend on the budget, if is cut from this year then prospects look very bleak!

This is even more important after Wiltshire got injured on Saturday, and even then Atkinson was playing at centre half.

Adam Desbois has posted on his Instagram story a photo of him in training with the squad, very interesting!

Yes interesting, he picked up a serious injury last summer and had his Eastbourne contract cancelled. Glad the read he is back training, it is too early to think , but we will need a keeper next season.

Joe Iaciofano has returned to Hemel, and is named on the bench for the Herts Senior Cup. Needed a striker at the time, but unfortunately never looked like the answer.

Diamond Edwards has returned to Port Vale too.

Seems logical, neither have set the world alight and we don’t need them for the next three games.

With just two games to go, perhaps it is now time to start to think about the type of squad we would like to see for the 25/26 season. Obviously the amount allocated to the playing budget will be the deciding factor but based on what has been said or implied, then with new owners, it might be that the figures will be greater than this season but not that of the previous season (although in mine and other’s observations) some expenditure on hotels and other overhead items, if removed, would be a boost to the funding.
Keepers We need to sort out either a quality loan like Curd or Merrick of sign a keeper of the right standard. We need a backup keeper in addition ? Ziger.
Right back Taylor and Revan can also play there.
Left back need a new one. Either Jeffcott or Masampu back up .
Central defenders. Need two experienced players with Wiltshire and Revan.
Defensively minded midfield Atkinson with Allan to cover.
Midfield Gray, Keeya Gardiner plus one signing. Plus pick 1/2 from Williams, Page and Hunt.
Striker Roberts, Vilhete plus two others who give us a physical presence. Not sure about Babajide.
Wide players Jalloh and Critchlow might also be included depending on recruitment.
I think this gives a squad size of around 22.
Not included Siziba as he is on loan.
Any thoughts?

After today I may have been too generous with my analysis!

No to Jalloh, Williams, Jeffcott, Wiltshire, Allan, Babajaide and Page. Maybe on Hunt, Keeya, Masampu.

Yes Revan, Roberts, Gray (if fit), Critchlow (if fit), Gardiner, Atkinson.

Massive rebuild needed if we want to be competitive next season.
