Maybe fans should give him the benefit of the doubt? Alan might play him in a different manor to having seen previous and he might offer something different. I personally don’t think he was as bad as some made out and the reactions are a bit over the top.

It’s fair enough to ask why he couldn’t get a regular place in a St Albans side that was relegated and a Basingstoke side that struggled at step 3. Was he playing injured or just lost form? If the latter, why?

Also know as "I slated him on social media and he has responded."

Love this modern supporter mentality that you just say whatever you want about a player and expect them to let it lie.

One particular supporter (not you though 🙄...) calling him a ******* on twitter - not exactly a constructive comment on his performance.

No but it’s the worst kept secret.

From what I have seen on X none of the tweets @ Sam or were from accounts that he follows, so he’s gone out of his way to reply.

A lot of the comments seemed very fair in regards to his footballing career since leaving us.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. From what I can see, excusing one post, everything is constructive and professional with nothing personal. Criticism is allowed as much as praise, and people are allowed to criticise, so long as none of it is personally abusive. If people are constructive then that is never an issue.

That's a weak response. Abusing someone on social media and expecting them not to see it is a child's response. But we've had this conversation, we don't need to do it again.

Deadfield confirmed as rejoining. Let's face it 95% of non league footballers are guns for hire. If he fails to find his old form then he'll be out the door pretty quick.

Deadfield must surely be on his last opportunity at this level so let's hope he grabs it and shows the same form as he did alongside Ryan Hill a few years ago.
Of the ones from last season's squad whose current plans are unknown, I'd want Roberts, Revan, Taylor and possibly Williams to return.
