THOSE WERE THE DAYS
2nd April 2016

Isthmian (Ryman) League Premier Division

HRBFC-
Mark Smith; Tom Jelley (Dean Sinclair, 74’), Josh Casey, Joe Hicks, Moussa Diarra, Leon Solomon (Eddie Hutchinson, 60’), Shaquille Hippolyte-Patrick, Tom Beere, Nicke Kabamba (Charlie Moone, 80’), Brendan Kiernan, Jamal Lowe.
Unused Subs; Martin Brennan (Gk), Michael Kamara

Brentwood Town:
Ollie Bowles; Leon Gordon (Joshua Banton 79'), Sam Cross, Martyn Stokes, Ryan O'Rawe, Simon Glover, Shad Ngandu (Marcus Milner 79'), Connor Witherspoon, Alex Teniola, Robbie Rees (Mitch Hahn 82'), Andrew Freeman
Unused Subs: Kevin Watson, James Scammell

A lively start with both teams going close before Solomon opened the scoring in the 23rd minute. Two minutes later Brentwood were awarded a penalty, for handball, but Smith went the right way to make the save from Robbie Rees. Almost immediately Lowe made it 2-0, sliding the ball under their keeper, Ollie Bowles. Brentwood pulled a goal back in the 33rd minute, when Alex Teniola took advantage a defensive error. The Beavers made it 3-1 in the 48th minute, Kiernan’s effort taking a slight deflection past Bowles. Brentwood’s skipper, Martyn Stokes, was sent off for a challenge on Beere, and later it was Beere who scored the fourth goal, after Sinclair had set him up. The final goal was scored with five minutes to go, Moone left with a simple tap-in after the ball was deflected into his path.

Lowe, Kiernan and Kabamba..never mind H&R best strike force ever, there can't be many better than that below the Conference

The season that we had Griffiths and Maskell, Derek Asamoah couldn't even get into the starting eleven and he went on to play EFL. With Dean Green and Warren Williams on the wings - what a side that was going forward.

Weird that.

Jenkins was a decent player in the lower echelons of the Isthmian League. I think he played for pretty much every club in the local area too.
