Perhaps unsurprisingly, and the right decision. https://hamrichfc.com/blogs/news/alan-j ... arts-hrbfc

Sad but seemed inevitable.
No info on who might be stepping in at the moment - still work in progress I guess.

I guess it might be Donovan Chislett and Luke Ruddick in charge tomorrow night until something is sorted. I guess the only other thing I can see would be a call to Dowson to step in.

I still stand by the fact Donovan Chislett was the real “brains” behind the team. Jules was made manager partly because of the budget, but also because he was the easiest option to put in front of the fans. The brothers knew people wouldn’t turn on Jules quickly, which bought everyone a bit of time. If it had been Mel or Gary, things probably would’ve felt a lot more toxic these last few months.
I do feel for Jules, though. Tough first job to step into. Hopefully he gets a nice break and finds his way back into a managerial role down the line.

A shame but no real surprise. Slightly surprised there's no announcement about any interim arrangement yet (there usually is, in statements like this) but it goes without saying that the next appointment is crucial. I'd urge the club to think long term.

As I said on Saturday, the optics of not doing anything after a humiliating 6-0 defeat against a relegation rival were probably too difficult for either party. The right decision in the circumstances providing there is sensible plan for finding a replacement, even if that takes a while to conclude. Alan was always battling against difficult circumstances not of his own making which limited his choice of players and made forward planning almost impossible. Although injuries came at the worst possible time, I somehow felt that we weren't going to defy gravity with the squad we had despite a good start. If we are to escape relegation we really need someone who can bring in some new experienced players who can re-ignite some of the undoubtedly better players in the squad.

Donovan Chislett was also the brains behind Met Police's short-term rise (up the table and into several ultimately unsuccessful play-offs for a place in our division) after Jim Cooper left and they abandoned the policy of bringing in journeymen players in favour of promoting their own youth team players and giving opportunities to those from lower leagues. He seems to be a good guy to have around.

Not sure if it means anything but I found it particularly interesting there have been no posts from players during this bad run of form/Jules resignation/sacking.

They defo lost confidence. Need someone who can pump them up.
