The visitors took a very early lead when a cross from James Henry was headed in by Dejon
Noel-Williams. Lovelock made a smart save to prevent Noel-Williams scoring a second. Hampton didn’t really get into the game until Joseph scored the equaliser midway through the first half, with an accurate finish thanks to Lucien’s cross-field pass. United should have gone ahead when ex-Hampton loanee Malachi Napa was denied by an instinctive save by Lovelock. Early in the second half, following both teams making numerous substitutions, Hampton took the lead. Hammond’s cross from just inside the halfway line was met on the run by Dickson who headed the ball powerfully past Scott Shearer. On 75 minutes United had a goal disallowed for a foul on Bray. Hampton had a couple of chances to extend the lead but had to be content with a 2-1 win.
