Being given pre-season to show what he can do. If he performs well enough, he will be retained for the actual season. That's what I thought on the couple of occasions I've seen him in pre-season. Unless he's an influential senior member of the squad who can show consistent high level performance there isn't really much point in having him. Recovering from serious injury isn't just about recovering physically, you have to really believe your injury has healed sufficiently to stand up to being fully tested.Tony wrote: Tue Jul 28, 2026 5:09 pm I’d like to think he will pay us back for last season by coming through as a regular member of the squad.
