Ebbsfleet lost there last 2 games away at Dorking 5.1 and Maidstone 4.0. Not an easy place to go, as we found out in the FA Cup defeat. Tough match.

We were outplayed totally in the FA Cup game and couldn’t decide whether to low block or press. Hope we are tactically a bit smarter today. A point would be a very good result.

The Radio commentary. I can't understand him. The commentary v Bath was excellent.

I didn't think it looked that different to the FA Cup game really, plus we made it fairly easy for them to stroke it around and then we just ended up chasing shadows. Didn't even make any real chances on goal although we could have done a bit better with a header near the end. Ebbsfleet are a fairly decent side but not a patch on Dorking. Their keeper's time wasting was a bit much though, can't understand why the ref let him get away with it.

First 20 mins we got the usual runaround from a slick Ebbsfleet side but just about clung on with Julian making a number of saves. Thereafter, it felt like we were more in the game without ever being that threatening as Ebbsfleet ran out of ideas. Their penalty was very soft and justice was done when Julian saved. At 0-0 at half time I thought we were on for a point. However, we didn’t really get to grips in the second half until they scored - not a 35 yarder but a good shot from the edge of the box. To be fair Ebbsfleet were always the better side but we did have chances, particularly the Robinson header from a few yards out straight at the keeper. With a bit more self belief we might have done more but can’t begrudge Ebbsfleet the points. Tommy Block is looking a very decent loan signing and good performances at the back generally. Midfield still lacking that enforcer to break up play. Deadfield, Gray, McKnight and Dronfield are very similar in style. Not a game for young Barzey who didn’t get a look in and had a tough time coping physically.
