After a short break it is back to league action against a Welling side fighting relegation. Let’s hope for a win, with Robinson recalled it looks like a new strike force of Roberts and Oladipo.

19th v 18th in the form guide. Whilst I think we are safe, three points would probably mean we can stop looking down the table. Welling have a bit of a gap to last place but still need wins. Their recent form has been pretty poor. They play Bath this Saturday, another struggling side 21st in the form table.

With Billericay winning, Welling are only four points clear but played one game more so will really need points off us on Tuesday. Their new manager should be announced today.

Won 2-1 with two goals direct from free kicks by Roberts and Farrell. Farrell also hit the post from another free kick. Probably the better side but Welling had chances particularly in the first half. Their late goal made the last 10 mins a bit more nervy but we saw it out ok. Effectively our league season is over as far as promotion or relegation is concerned. How we build for next season with loan players still on the books I don’t know. The only obvious keeps are Inman, Donaldson, Julian ( if he wants to keep going) and maybe Deadfield, Gray and TMR. Odalipo did ok but is clearly young and a bit raw, Barzey has promise and a chance to prove himself in the last league games. Of the loanees, Roberts would be an obvious choice if available and willing. What budget we will have is anyone’s guess. At least the manager can experiment a bit without too much concern. Doubt we will see too many permanent new signings from now to the end of the season.
