THOSE WERE THE DAYS
February 10th 2004
Middlesex Senior Cup Quarter Final
HRBFC 2 Bedfont 2 aet lost 5-3 on pens (Att; 88)
Channell, Paris

Five years after leaving the club, Steve Cheshire returned with Combined Counties, Bedfont and rowed back the years to lead the minnows past the Beavers.
Adrian Blake; Craig Webster, Rob Paris, Paul Kelly, Alan inns, Marcello Fernandes, Jeremy Jones, Lee Channell, Tony Reid (Michael Currie), Matt Glynn (Dudley Gardner), Andy Morley.
Unused Subs; Brian Haule & Eric Kwayke.

Beavers were shocked when going behind after 2 minutes, however Channell restored parity in the 18th minute. Paris put Hampton in front in the 55th minute heading in from a corner and with seconds to go it looked all over. Then, Adam Wills scored to send the game into extra time. Beavers had the chance to go ahead but Reid failed to convert a penalty. With no further scoring it was down to the lottery of a penalty shoot-out. Bedfont led off with a score, Kelly missed his first and the visitors never relinquished the lead.
Cheshire was warmly applauded off the field by the home support – he then had to dash off as he had promised his wife to be home by 10pm! Steve Cheshire; played 500+ games, 66 goals for the Beavers
