I listened to his first online interview last night, and it gave the impression that Billericay approached him. Clearly his stock must still be quite high.

From Mel’s comments when he took over the players were surprised and pleased to have a less confrontational style of manager and who wanted them to play more football.
It will be interesting to see how he gets on in his new job. My thinking on him was initially he underestimated the difference in requirements between the two levels and his initial poor recruitment illustrated it.
Let’s see how he gets on, wish him well, feel he is now operating at a level more comfortable for him.

Ade Azeez is his first signing from Welling, a very useful forward when he played against us. Must have given him good money to persuade him to drop down a level.
