The Isthmian League’s big match finished all square, but Hampton came even closer to their first ever victory over the ’Shots. Hampton unveiled new signing Feltham before the game and it was he, who gave the Beavers the lead in the 28th minute. Moore played a quick ball through to Feltham, who, spotting Gary Phillips off his line, lobbed the Aldershot keeper from twenty yards. The goal quietened down the Aldershot supporters for a while but they soon got behind their team after Johnson Hippolyte forced an excellent save from Russell. Against the run of play in the second half Burton headed a Moore free-kick just past the far post. Aldershot equalised in the 74th minute when Hippolyte headed in at the far post. Three minutes later Crouch was sent off for an off the ball incident. Twice in the last few minutes Phillips kept a point safe for Aldershot, making saves from Moore and Gray.
