A chance to get some points and ensure our playoff place. We have slipped to the bottom of the playoff’s spots , so we don’t want to fall lower. Our visitors have slipped a little after an unexpected strong start, they to might want to make up lost ground.
Hopefully Mel will have more choice in team selection and three points is a requirement now with a trip to Weymouth and then two further home games. Most of the games in hand are at home and we need to turn them into points.

Desbois, Reven, Inman, Fernandez, Pitblado, Gray, Brown, O’Connell, Anifowese, Kurran- Brown and Fadahunsi.
Bench, Hall, Seymour, Dreyer, Deadfield and Wishart.
Quite a few changes, no Bloomfield.

Lost 1-0, the poor run continues. We are now out of the playoffs.
Three matches to come over next ten days. Trip to Weymouth who were well beaten at home by Worthing, then we entertain Farnborough and Havant. Don’t think Weymouth away will be easy, they will be smarting after today Farnborough again will not be easy. As for Havant, their squad and resources should not have them where they are. Their new management team have steadily improved things after two disastrous managerial appointments.
If more lost points possibly then a decision as to either right off this season or plan for and recruit with an eye for outside chance of playoffs. Mel did say he wants a couple more in, but they must be of the right standard and that will not be easy..

Await detailed reports on Today’s game.

Another disappointing result and performance. Bit like last Saturday, even first half with few chances for either side although Brown hit the bar with a thundering shot and we had a goal disallowed from a corner for handball. We needed to score first but second half we once again ran out of ideas and Aveley, who were workmanlike at best, started to apply some pressure. The goal was another comedy of errors, missed tackles and Debois failing to grab what look like a routine ball. We didn’t look like scoring, the best chance was a header that Fadahunsi put wide. Their keeper had little to do all game. No goals scored in the last three games and the worrying factor is that we are just not creating enough chances or able to keep a clean sheet. The changes in the line up didn’t make that much difference nor did the subs. To my mind we don’t play with any width so when we turnover the ball, the only pass seems to be a long 50/50 pass forward or backwards and square. Revan did well getting to the bye line a couple of times but he can’t do that for 90 minutes. Weymouth just lost 4-1 at home to Worthing who had a player sent off in the 14th minute. If we come away with nothing on Tuesday then play offs will start to look in jeopardy.

We were never going to make the play-off. We flattered to deceive and have now been found out. Players out injured and no goalscorer mean we will end where we were always going to end this season: mid-table! At least with the points we already have we shouldn't be relegated but after the last few matches I wouldn't bet on it.

Several supporters have expressed a feeling that we had some fortunate results and now we are not getting them. It does give a chance for Mel and his team to assess the squad especially given current form and who is up to a promotion push.
To be honest to achieve promotion you need several players of a higher standard than currently with us.if we are to achieve our owners ambitions, this entails getting the budget right requiring a healthy uplift. If not, we will remain a mid table team.
