Eastbourne tonight. They are 3rd bottom. A 2.0 Hampton win imo. Any thoughts.

Eastbourne are one of only four teams we haven’t taken at least a point from this season. Lost there early on but both our fortunes have changed since then. Beavers should win but anyone can beat anyone in NLS.

I assume that the pitch is ok as there has not been any indication of a pitch inspection.

If it goes ahead, it is the first of three consecutive home fixtures, this one, on form, being the easiest. Don’t think it will be a easy game our visitors have shown recently signs of improvement and they are desperate to avoid the drop. Our selection will depend on availability and fitness. Hopefully there will some players that can make the bench.

I watched Tonbridge vs Eastbourne on Saturday. Eastbourne were poor and after a first half sending off just sat back and let Tonbridge dominate possession. Moussa Diarra hobbled off injured before half time (and was replaced by Imran Uche).

No easy games but this has to be one we have to win if we have play off pretensions.

How did we win that? We managed just four shots all game and scored in the 95th minute with what, to be fair, was our best move of the match, a nice finish by Bloomfield. Other than that we struggled to put anything together going forward for pretty much 90 minutes. Defence was fine but midfield was the problem throughout. Mel took off Hall and Donaldson at half time which I guess was tactical but nothing really changed with Eastbourne looking the more likely to score if not for some wayward finishing. For the last 20 minutes or so Eastbourne rather sat back content with the point. Their captain got a second yellow late on but they seemed comfortable enough until some quick thinking from a freekick got Pitblado free on the left and his low cross across the six yard box was met by Bloomfield.

Great goal at the death and a great result but overall not a great performance. We created very little and relied on long straight balls in the channel for Seymour to chase. I feel for him, he is such a willing runner but deserves more thoughtful play for us to capitalise on his strengths. The one moment of quality in the first half was provided by Ahall and his through ball to Seymour but their keeper pulled off a great save. Hall can produce brilliance but hasn’t got the fitness to play NLS unfortunately, The winger on loan from Derby was a ray of sunshine in the second half, he was direct, full of energy and linked up well with Pitblado. Any word why Kurren Brown and Inman not even on the bench?

Not sure why we didn't bring on Afinowose in the second half instead of Brown. We seem to have reverted to the type of game plan which was heavily criticised under Gary McCann, long hopeful balls forward bypassing midfield.
