On reflection on this game, Worthing have around five strikers in their squad all of whom are of Conference South standard which is in contrast to our squad. Their defence needed strengthening so they took a central defender from Tonbridge to address this problem. Perhaps we need to bear this in mind for future campaigns?

The club certainly needs to be more pro-active in looking for players to fill gaps in the squad. All season fans have been saying we need to get new players in but we hardly ever see an improvement in the team.

We brought in a bunch of midfielders but not sure they improved things that much.

Perhaps for the new regime it has been a learning curve. For Mel too as he has not managed at this level before. For many of us we have watched many games at this level and over the years have seen players we would be very happy to have at Beveree. It might be a good question for Mel as to whom has impressed you in opponents teams. It might be that moves to recruit might be made depending on budget and ambitions. What happens after the end of the season with the retained list and recruitment will be the key.
