Chesham away tonight
A game we could and should have won. We played well but to lose to 10 men will hurt. Credit to Chesham who reorganised after the sending off early in the second half. Instead of sitting in a low block they began to put pressure on us and use dead balls and long throws to their best advantage. Unfortunately we rather lost the physical battle in midfield for 15 minutes and paid the price. Page should have put the ball into touch on halfway but missed it and Chesham countered swiftly to set up Minhas for their second. We steadied the ship and then pressurised their goal for an equaliser but couldn’t open them up for a really clear chance. Chesham pretty much won everything in the air and charged down any strikes on goal. Their keeper was excellent all game. He made a number of good saves in the first half but maybe we could have been a bit more clinical. We had plenty of possession and used it well but found it increasingly difficult to break down Chesham’s rearguard action. Not a disaster but should have come away with something.
