We now have potentially three loan players, could they all feature this afternoon? Most supporters would be keen to see them in a Hampton home game.

That was excellent.

I was worried when Jack went back to Sutton, followed by Ted back to Chelsea.

Needn’t have worried. Jerry seems to have grown in confidence, and Max looked like a Ted clone. In fact, Max should get an assist for that fantastic throw that led to the second goal.

The team looked so well balanced, and everybody played their part. Maz looked very busy, Josh self-assured and as cheeky as ever, Mike “none shall pass me” Atkinson the same as ever. Thought Kris had a great game at left back. Loved the way he kept moving inside and disrupting Tonbridge’s shape.

Superb performances all-round though.

We’ve scored some pretty spectacular goals this season - Kris, Mike, Alex, James and Mauro. We can now add Mauro’s header today from Andy’s cross. However, we need to score our penalties !

I thought it was a very open game from the start, two pacey and energetic sides evenly matched. We deserved the first half lead despite Archy Taylor hitting the bar from a penalty, Wiltshire scoring from close range from a corner. Second half continued end to end and we needed to defend well. Fortunately we scored at just the right time to break any momentum that Tonbridge had, a superb move from Merrick’s throw to Taylor and Vilhete’s header, four touches back to front. They then had a player sent off with a straight red for a foul on Hunt, their third red in two games. A very hard won three points.

A entertaining game and a deserved win. Another penalty miss, think that’s three this season, contrast with Seymour’s last season 100% success.
Wiltshire got a goal following a corner and we went in one up at half time, it could have been more emphatic? Both sides pressed for a goal but felt that their keeper had to make the more vital saves. The second goal was a great team effort, an excellent throw by Merrick to Taylor a good run and cross headed home by Vilhete for a small man he gets a lot of headed goals.
Would agree with their manager, our midfield controlled the game. Another fine Atkinson performance, my player of the season thus far! Of the new players Merrick looked competent and saw him get a congratulatory hug at the end from Curd. Evans ran around, it is so difficult for strikers to settle in. Byrd came on near the end but looks like he is solid.
Two tougher games to come

The Club car does not fit in the garage at Broad lane Mk. So is not stored there.

I understand Evans ended up as a sub at Tonbridge in his brief time on loan and you could perhaps see why today. I might have brought on Wall for the last 15 as the ball wasn’t sticking with him. I think Roberts and Gray will come back in once they are available. No sign of Page again in the squad. I wonder if he’ll be next to move on.
