St Albans away 1 February 2025
Alan Julian confirmed in his post-Weymouth match summary that St Albans would be a “tough match for sure”. Looking at the H2H stats, we have not beaten St Albans over the last 9 meetings. Our last win against them was 2-1 at home on 25 January 202O. That’s five years ago! Time to change the record.

Agree about St Albans, we have a very poor record against them, let’s hope for a win on Saturday. They have relied on Jeffers’ goals every season and this year his record has been poor by his standards. Let’s hope he doesn’t find his scoring boots on Saturday!

Yes The Club Car will leave Broad Lane at 11.45am. Soup Mushroom.
The form guide will have us as heavy favourites. St Albans have had quite a turnover in their squad recently with a number of loan signings and departures. They seem to have steadied the ship a little with four consecutive draws so look as if they will be hard to break down. However, they are not scoring many so the sort of game where you want to score first. A draw would not be a disaster for us but surely a game management would be targeting for a win. I hope we play our strongest available side.
Probably a draw today. Remember to bring your own soup as there is rarely any on sale at Clarence Park. Except maybe a weak tomato broth.HamptonMad wrote: Thu Jan 30, 2025 6:08 pm Yes The Club Car will leave Broad Lane at 11.45am. Soup Mushroom.

Are they being over cautious, after they were caught out by a downpour, which caused the game to be called off late last season?

Reading their forum, they aren’t too unhappy with the postponement. They looked at current form! Looks like the squad is have a lot of changes, Hutchinson has been recalled by Wealdstone who was one of their better players. Jeffers’ injury might have been a factor although he is struggling for goals.
We wait and rest for Dorking.

Does seem a strange postponement. Their pitch normally drains well as it is above the rest of the park. Last year was a downpour late on if I remember rightly. Wasn’t going to rain between inspection and ko so you imagine they were trying to not play the game if they could. At least it means we should be rested ahead of Dorking on Tuesday which will be a tough test.
