Hampton jogged home with a 4-0 win over an Enfield team in crisis. Chairman, Tony Lazarou, already at war with his supporters over the loss of Southfield Road, had just replaced manager, Jim Chandler, with Division 2’s Cheshunt boss, Tom Loizou with the resulting inflow of Cheshunt players. The once proud Enfield were ripe for plucking. In the twenty seventh minute, Holloway was fouled on the edge of the penalty area, Maskell drove the resulting free kick into the top corner. Green had an effort smothered by Hilton in the 37th minute, before a rare header from Griffiths, into that same left hand top corner, put Hampton 2-0 up. The second half was all Hampton and it was just a case of what the final score would be. Four minutes into the second period, Maskell converted a low cross from Green. Soon after a Hilton save deprived Maskell of a hat-trick. Carter went close twice before Girvan forced Hilton into a save. Wiliams did his usual trick of coming on as a sub to score the fourth and final goal.
