A Thursday night in North-West London, with a Cup Final at stake. Hendon were on a run of four matches in six days (no rest for the wicked), whilst Hampton had had a five-day break. Seven goals resulted, Hampton only claiming the win with a late penalty. Hendon took the lead in the 9th minute through the lively Jack Bennett. Within a minute though Wickham had levelled the score. And, so the game went on, the scoring tit for tat. Dave Diedhiou put Handon ahead, Brewer responded with a shot that deflected over the Hendon keeper. Ten minutes before half-time Michael Murray converted a penalty to leave Hendon 3-2 ahead at the break. Chiweshe made an excellent save in the second half to keep Hampton in the game. Then in the 58th minute it was all-square, again. Former Hendon player Aite-Quakrim scoring. Late in the game, Berkley Laurencin was adjudged to have fouled Aite-Quakrim and was sent off, to be replaced by sub keeper, Joe McDonnell (Archange Nkumu, the player withdrawn). McDonnell had to face the penalty but was given no chance by Wickham – game over.
