Buglione made his debut off the bench early in the second half to grab a brace of goals in a lively contest that saw three red cards. The game was the first since Chick Botley had lost his position as manager, the team was being looked after by Assistant Manager, Tony Coombe, and the club’s senior player, Steve Cheshire. Buglione had been signed from Hayes, the previous day and, having arrived late, was a named substitute. Hampton had the better of the first half, the best chance falling to Gallagher had a header cleared off the line. Buglione came on in the 55th minute and opened his account in the 72nd. Cooper played the ball in and Buglione slotted the ball past keeper, Gavin King. Five minutes the game suddenly went mad. An off the ball incident saw the home side’s Aaron Archer sent off. From the resulting corner a free-for-all developed which ended with one player from each side departing the scene, Scott Honeyball and Dixon. Buglione wrapped up the win in the final minutes, Gardner took the ball to the line and played it back across to Buglione, King deflected the ball up an away but Buglione reacted quickly to score with a looping shot.
