Question for Les - have Hampton ever before lost by five and then the next game won by five?!
5-0 Beavers!!
Welling home on Saturday.
Remarkable turn round with Harry Gardner the star of the show with a hat trick and an assist. We were back to our old selves, visibly more confident and creating chances from the off. Two goals in five minutes and three up by half time. We are now safe from the drop and get to regroup hopefully with a better budget and a happier support base next season. A few old faces there today and no doubt some volunteers have been approached to come back. Alan Julian will sleep much better tonight. Two of St Albans, Salisbury and Welling will be going down.

Excellent afternoon at the Bev - a real breath of fresh air in so many ways.
Great to get the win and a bonus to have relegation mathematically now out of the question.
(I think Enfield might still theoretically not be safe yet, along with the 3 mentioned above.)

Great performance. Brilliant way to celebrate the departure of the clowns.

It seemed that a great weight had been lifted from the club. Players looked that much happier and relaxed than in recent times. Roberts back, looking far more engaged, did not score but his fierce shot was only parried by the keeper for Gardiner to head his third., Welling conceded two goals in the first five minutes probably shattered their already fragile confidence. Their defensive line was poor and lacked communication. There was a row between keeper and centre half in the first half so it did look a happy ship!
All in all a satisfactory result and relief all round. Great start for the new regime but still a long way to go to build up for the next season.

A breath of fresh air indeed. Alfie Williams, Gianni Crichlow, Dominic Revan and quite possibly some other players were having a celebratory drink in the World's End after the game; many supporters stuck around at the club for a good post-match drink up, just as in days gone by. It was good to see several familiar faces returning to the crowd, which was energetic and noisy. Scott Forbes was keen to be mixing with the home support behind the goal and seemed to really enjoy the afternoon in a very genuine way. During the second half the recurring chant was "we've got our Hampton back" which sums up how most people feel. Let's not forget before the game Robbie Brownett was remembered on the anniversary of a year since his last match with a minute's applause, his family were in attendance. The day couldn't have gone better.
What an excellent day. Really good atmosphere, it was louder than it has been for a while, some of the football was absolutely superb (what Step Three manager wasn't giving Harry Gardner game time?!) and everything just felt a lot more positive. I thought the kids behind the goal were excellent, clearly just having a great time and never badly behaved - really love to see it. Safe for another year, well done Alan Julian and the team.

Great afternoon. Really felt like the negativity and despondency had been lifted and the feelgood factor was back. How wonderful to hear "we've got our club back" being sung, and good to see Alec back where he belongs, behind the goal, goading the home support into action.
And the performance itself? Well...breathtaking at times. Well done Jules and the team.

It's great we are 10 points above the drop zone with 3 games to go very few expected most people expected us to be relegated. Not sure yesterday was cause Welling very so poor,or the new owners,or the embarrassment of losing 5 nil at home last week.Fingers crossed the future is alot brighter now and can't see it but wish the club could go back to being Hampton F.C.

It's been a huge step in the right direction this week. Lets support the new owners as they get themselves established and give them our backing. There were plenty of "We're Hampton FC" and "Allez Allez Allez... Hampton FC... red and blue army" songs coming from the home terracing, so that issue won't be dropped...Whoryer wrote: Sun Apr 13, 2025 8:11 am It's great we are 10 points above the drop zone with 3 games to go very few expected most people expected us to be relegated. Not sure yesterday was cause Welling very so poor,or the new owners,or the embarrassment of losing 5 nil at home last week.Fingers crossed the future is alot brighter now and can't see it but wish the club could go back to being Hampton F.C.
