20 goals at the Bev in our last three home matches of the season. Can't argue with the value...

Well I'd said I won't be reading anything in to that result but I can't help myself...
Utterly, utterly embarrassing. Roberts and maybe Gardner can emerge with a bit of pride intact but I'm really struggling after that. And as for the wisdom of pitching the young keeper in for a league debut when we have a defence like that playing, (whatever the circumstances) well I hope the club is prepared to give him another go. And maybe also pay for a few counselling sessions, because he was completely without support or cover today.
People will say "well the game was meaningless" and that's true, but games like that confirm every criticism of the standard of non-league football from armchair Premier league fans.
Anyone fancy a game at Slough?

Les will have to tell us when we last shipped 8 goals at home but it must have been 30 , 40 years ago or more. Poor Luka Ziger making his league debut in front of a makeshift defence and makeshift midfield. Feels like he was thrown under the bus but maybe we didn't have anyone else available. The whole side pretty much gave up once the the first couple of goals went in and Ziger wasn't really at fault on any of them. Gardner got another peach of a goal from range but frankly that was a rare moment of light in what was otherwise a horror show. If any payer was trying to convince the manager to sign them up for next season, then on that showing we will be looking for a whole new team. Of course nothing really rested on the result but I'm not sure we can just brush off an 8-2 home defeat. Enough of that team have played at this level to know a lot better so what happened?

I think Alan Julian has to take quite a bit of the blame for that performance. Unless it was forced on him, a poor team selection.

I too feel sorry for the young bloke in goal. I also am impressed with what the team achieved in the first half of the season when many of us feared the worst. However the last 15 games give me no confidence that the manager knows what he’s doing. Maybe he’s been operating with one hand tied behind his back - maybe - but some of the recent performances have been abject. Today’s was a nadir.
The buck has to stop somewhere.

Looking at the team , most of us would have feared the worst and in fact it exceeded our concerns. Farnborough did what they wanted , as the game wore on we got more ragged in every area. Fortunately we are safe but this game emphasised the need for replacements.

A game definitely best not to be playing in! If we have mid table pretensions for next year then my retained list would be Gray, Taylor, Vilhete, Roberts, Revan and Atkinson. Not sure I would go much further but always comes down to money. One or two other might make the cut but need to show the second half season performances aren't their true level.

Although we haven't seen too much of him so far, from what we have seen I would add Gardner too.

First game back in a while and i must say those kids behind the goal banging that drum (off beat) no matter the game state were very annoying.

I have to agree, got even worse when a second drum appeared. Charlotte Rance tried to tell them to calm down, which they appeared to take no notice of and instead labelled her a ‘Karen’ and took the mick. Very annoying.

They won't stick around for too long I'm sure, but I do wish we could have a "no drums" policy at the Bev.

Alan in his interview said that Wiltshire was his only first choice defender and he was not fully fit. If the injury crisis gets worse then he might have to play at right back!
